Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to take 7 families and a total of 50 family members and LCEG, Inc. staff to a very successful and impactful 2022 Teenology Ranger Family Camp at Whispering Winds Camp and Conference Center in Julian, California this past July for a 2 day and 2 night camp.
In 2022, our theme was, "Learning from our past, to build a stronger future." We invited Bea Zamora, a former dean and childrens' book author and we highlighted her most recent book, Am I Blue or Am I Green?/Azul o verde, cual soy yo? is a children's bilingual (Spanish and English) book that explores, through the eyes of a child, the differences between the Red, White and Blue of the American flag and the Green, White and Red of the Mexican flag.
We worked with Bea, Sayra, Amy and her UCSD Team of Becca,Jordan and Brie to utilized the book to explores the culture and identity of family members of Mexican or Latin-American countries with children who are American born citizen and whose parents are primarily undocumented Native-Americans. Each family created their own family flag and family book of history and values.
